Is THQ planning a HomeWorld 3 ??

Recently, some fans went digging for information over at fan site Relic News. And guess what they uncovered! They’ve found that THQ, who now own original Homeworld developers Relic, have picked up the rights to the series from former owners Vivendi (ie Sierra).

This isn’t confirmation that any new Homeworld titles are in the making, of course, but then they’d hardly go to all the trouble of getting the rights if they weren’t going to something with them.

Im a HuGE fan of the series, and would totally love to play a new sequel to the original game. Lets hope that news for Homeworld 3 is announced very soon 😀

Dubai planning for the worlds largest Arch Bridge

They do things differently in Dubai. They like their stuff bigger, taller, and more expensive than anywhere else. So it only makes sense that construction of the world’s tallest arch bridge begins next month.

The bridge will peak at 670 feet, have 12 lanes of traffic, and handle up to 2,000 vehicles per hour.

Scheduled completion is slated for 2012, after $817 million in construction.

3D Floating Holographic Displays: Now a reality!

Yes you are not dreaming, these displays and the technology for these diplays has been finally perfected! IO2 Technologies have developed displays under the Brand Heliodisplay, which projects any standard computer or video cable attached to the Heliodisplay system, and project video or images into mid-air.

Various models are available ranging sizes from 30″, 50″ and 100″ (diagonal) areas. The ‘i” version allows for a “virtual” touchscreen (new for December 2007). No special hardware or software is required to view images. The 30″ Heliodisplay is now only 5.9″ tall, and weighs 15lbs. The 50″ and 100″ are each only 10″ tall and weigh 28lbs, and 68lbs respectively. All afford a wide range of flexibility and options. Continue reading
