SIMS 3 – More Details unveiled!

Here are some changes that are incorporated in the new Sims-3. Enjoy!

1) The biggest change to The Sims 3 is that it takes place in a wide-open, constantly changing neighborhood — a much bigger sandbox, if you will, and a much more complex simulation. The town and park you see on the cover image to the right (click to enlarge) exist in the same seamless space as your Sims’ household, and what you do outside your home now matters as much as what you do within. Previous expansion packs added out-and-about activities, but they were always separate sub-games. Here, everything’s completely integrated

2) The Sims’ now report of their moods – the maddening individual meters are gone, replaced by “discrete moods”, which is supposed to stop the more narcissistic players from constantly worrying about pissing and eating and instead let them focus on the more enjoyable stuff.

3) The game also sees a major shift in how Sims’ motives are handled: Individual meters indicating bladder and sleep-deprivation levels are replaced by a new system of discrete moods, the aim being to get players off the treadmill of fulfilling primal eat-sleep-pee-repeat requirements so they can focus more on, well, going out on the brand new town.

And a lot more is expected ………… 😀

Board of Directors
Yahoo! Inc.
701 First Avenue

Attention: Roy Bostock, Chairman
Attention: Jerry Yang, Chief Executive Officer

Dear Members of the Board:

I am writing on behalf of the Board of Directors of Microsoft to make a proposal for a business combination of Microsoft and Yahoo!. Under our proposal, Microsoft would acquire all of the outstanding shares of Yahoo! common stock for per share consideration of $31 based on Microsoft’s closing share price on January 31, 2008, payable in the form of $31 in cash or 0.9509 of a share of Microsoft common stock. Microsoft would provide each Yahoo! shareholder with the ability to choose whether to receive the consideration in cash or Microsoft common stock, subject to pro-ration so that in the aggregate one-half of the Yahoo! common shares will be exchanged for shares of Microsoft common stock and one-half of the Yahoo! common shares will be converted into the right to receive cash. Our proposal is not subject to any financing condition. Continue reading

CryTek shocase CryEngine2, that will run on $600 Machines!

Crysis, the game made on the CryTek1 engine, defined a new era by giving us astounding graphics based on Dx10, and set a new hallmark in game development. However, even the beastiest of machines cry down on their knees when running Crysis at full graphics, and benchmarks of systems having Quad-Sli Nvidia 8800GTX cards, and running on Intel C2Quad processors gave a maximum FPS of a meagre 35 !
So the Important thing about CryTek2 Engine to me, is Not more splendid Graphics, but the claim that it would be able to run on systems made under $600, keyboards and mouse combined ! Here is the Full news:

Crytek GnbH will be showing off their CryENGINE 2 and Sandbox 2 game editor on the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 at this year’s Game Developers Conference.

The company will also be showing how a computer that can be made for less than $600 can run their fully-optimized engine. I suspect that might, just might be because of their PC-crushing game Crysis. It will be interested to find out what sort of tweaks they did to the engine to get it to run on the 360 and PS3, and more importantly if they tweaked each version differently to help play to their individual strong suits.
